Having trouble finding an item in our catalogue? Newmarket Library partners with libraries across Ontario, allowing members to request access to books, audiobooks and DVDs that are not available through our library.
To request an Interlibrary Loan item, you must have an active membership with us in good standing. Be sure to search our catalogue for the item you are looking for first. If you can't find it in the catalogue, please visit the Interlibrary Loan portal (also known as D2D) to search for your item. All customers who would like to use the Interlibrary Loan service will need to sign up for their own D2D account. The first time you find and select an item to request, you will be asked to create an account.
If you need assistance or more information on how to create your Interlibrary Loan request please contact us. Our team will help you connect with other libraries across the province to help you find the item. If the item was published within the last 12 months, please complete a Suggest a Purchase form as new items are not eligible for Interlibrary loan service.
How can I sign up for an account?

You can sign up via the Interlibrary Loan Portal D2D. Visit us at the Service Desk on the Lower Level of the Library for further assistance.

Terms of Use
|
- We encourage you to request items directly through D2D. We can also submit the request on your behalf.
- You may have up to six active Interlibrary Loan requests at a time.
- Interlibrary Loan items typically take between three and eight weeks to arrive, but this may vary depending on the availability of the requested item.
- You will receive a notification once your item has arrived. You can then pick up your item and check it out at the Customer Service Desk.
- You will be able to request a renewal for your item in D2D. If the item's due date has not been reached, a "Renew" button will appear next to the title in "My Account." When the Renew button is clicked, the Lending Library will receive the renewal request and either approve or decline it. If it is after your item's due date, please email us at collections@newmarketpl.ca or call us. Please note that renewals are dependent on the needs of the Lending Library and are not guaranteed.
- While Newmarket Library no longer charges fines for overdue items, if the Lending Library providing the Interlibrary Loan item does charge fines and a customer returns the item late, they may be charged a late fine for that item.
- Interlibrary Loan customers are responsible for the full replacement cost of lost or damaged items, as assessed by the Lending Library.
