The Newmarket Public Library Board is appointed by the Town of Newmarket Council and is made up of four community members and three councillors. The Library Board is governed by the Public Libraries Act (1990).

The Library Board generally meets the third Wednesday of each month, except July and August. Meetings are open to the public and start at 5:30 p.m. in the library's Board Room.
