Maker Hub Guidelines

  • Equipment use is available by appointment only due to space limitations.
  • Users must be library members and 16 years or older to use the Maker Hub independently. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Note: Some equipment requires certification for use.
  • Users must complete the required training, orientation, or certification if there is one for the equipment.
  • The library is not responsible for any manufacturing defects in the quality of workmanship or materials inherent in any of the tools or equipment.
  • Staff will demonstrate proper usage, or make available upon request, manuals and other instructional material.
  • Users must report any accident/incident that occurs in the Maker Hub to a library staff member immediately.
  • Users must clean up their workspace and return items to their original location.
  • Users accept financial responsibility for any misuse or damage to any equipment.
  • Food or drink is not permitted near equipment in the Maker Hub.
  • Staff reserve the right to stop any projects that violate library policies or are unsafe and/or unlawful, as well as any failed 3D prints.
  • Users may save work on external memory devices. Staff are not responsible for saving user files.
  • It is the user’s obligation and responsibility to determine and satisfy copyright, patent,
    trademark and other user restrictions. The library is not responsible for violations of intellectual property laws.
  • All users must adhere to the Newmarket Library’s Code of Conduct when in the Maker Hub and in the library. Failure to do so will result in immediate expulsion from the space.
  • Violation of any of the above guidelines can result in revocation of the user’s right to access the Maker Hub.
