Changes to Interlibrary Loan service coming soon
Later this fall our current interlibrary service, VDX/Zportal will be retiring. You will not be able to access the portal after November 12. Ontario Public Libraries will be using the new system, Resource Sharing for Groups as of November 12. Please stay tuned for further updates on the new system.
(if you already have an account)
If you can't find a title or author in our library catalogue, we can try to borrow it from another library. If the item was published within the last 6 months, please complete a Suggest a Purchase form, because they are too new to request from another library.
How can I sign up? |
You can register for an Interlibrary Loan account online, or by visiting the Information Desk in the Adult Services Department. You must be a member of the library with a valid library card. |
How does it work? |
Once you have an account you may place your own request or we can do it for you at the Information Desk, Adult Services Department. We will notify you by telephone or email that the item is ready for borrowing. |
How long does it take? |
A request can take about two to three weeks. Some requests may take longer depending on the location of the lending library and the availability of the title. |
How long can I keep it? |
Three weeks is the usual loan period. The lending library decides the loan period and if renewals are possible. For renewals, please contact us at least one week before the due date for your item. |
