Library Programs
Newmarket Public Library (NPL) provides various programs and events that respond to community interests and needs. Our programs inspire our community to think creatively and encourage innovation. They also offer opportunities for learning and growth while driving positive change, encouraging people to connect, discuss, and engage with one another, helping build a stronger community.
Newmarket Library upholds the principle of intellectual freedom and supports individuals' rights to read, speak, view, and exchange differing points of view on any subject. The library will provide public access to diverse perspectives on an issue to promote social responsibility and affirm inclusivity.

How to Submit a Library Program Proposal
In our community, you'll find talented individuals, creative spirits, and stories that uplift and connect us. We encourage you to share your talents with Newmarket Library to help support the creation of an authentic, community-driven space. Priority is given to program suggestions that complement the library's collections, services, goals, and strategic initiatives.
Definition of Library Program
A program is an intentional service or event in a social setting, developed proactively to meet the needs or interests of an anticipated target audience, who attend by choice.
Guidelines for Library Programs
- Programs provided in partnership with the library must be open and accessible to the public.
- Programs must be designed to provide information and/or an experience for the public without promoting a business, product, or commercial enterprise.
- Programs are generally planned six (6) months in advance of their delivery date.
- Program offerings should align with the Library's Strategic Goals.
- Programs adhere to the Newmarket Library’s Program Policy.
While we welcome all submissions, we are unable to offer all the programs submitted. The Library’s Program and Community Engagement Team will consider your application and keep it on file for one (1) year from the submission date.
Approval of a previous program proposal does not guarantee that an organization or individual will be asked to offer the program again or have future proposals approved.
Because of the high volume, we will only contact you if we are interested in booking your program.
