  • CCSYR (Catholic Community Services of York Region) is a multicultural agency that provides information and services to immigrants and refugees.
  • Welcome Centre Immigrant Services supports include: settlement services, English language training employment supports and other services based on community needs.
  • Settlement.Org Welcome to Ontario provides answers to common questions about your new home Ontario.
  • The Association des francophones de la région de York (AFRY) offers free welcome and settlement services including: needs assessment for referral to various resources, information on housing, education, transportation, employment issues, financial literacy, cross-cultural skills, and community connections to assist in building social ties.

Government services

  • Immigration and Citizenship Canada is the place to apply to visit, study, and work or immigrate to Canada.
  • Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship  is the only official study guide for the citizenship test.
  • The Town of Newmarket site has information about Newmarket's councilors and the mayor, taxes and bylaws, parks and recreation and much more.

Connect with our diverse team of Community Navigators who speak multiple languages to discuss your settlement needs:

  • Referrals to community resources and services, such as employment, housing & school registration.
  • Provide information about government programs and applications, such as child tax benefits, OHIP & immigration applications.
  • Individualized Digital Skills Coaching sessions (DSC) to improve your knowledge of using new apps and platforms on your PC and phone.
  • Information about upcoming events to connect with your community.
