Departure of NPL CEO
The Newmarket Public Library Board extends its best wishes to Todd Kyle, current CEO of Newmarket Public Library, who will be departing the library effective January 15, 2021.
“Todd joined Newmarket Public Library as CEO in May of 2010 and his leadership has been instrumental in implementing a number of key initiatives over the years,” said Darcy McNeill, Chair of the Library Board. “Todd will be undertaking his new role as CEO of Brampton Library beginning January 18, 2021, providing him with new career challenges.”
Todd Kyle’s accomplishments as CEO of NPL have helped to enhance the profile of the library in the community in a number of ways, including:
- Leading the expansion of the library’s digital media collection.
- Introducing the library’s Maker Hub where people learn to design and create with
technologies such as 3D Printing. - Promoting programming partnerships with community groups.
- Overseeing the growth of library services that led to a 25% increase in borrowing.
- Positioning the library as a technology help centre.
“My years at NPL have been among the best of my career,” said Kyle. “Helping to move the library forward and position it as a community hub for knowledge, learning, culture, and technology have provided me with the opportunity to work with a great team of people: the management and staff of NPL. However, I’ve been looking for new challenges and feel this is the right time to make a change.”
As the search for a new CEO is conducted, the Library Board is pleased to announce that the former Deputy CEO of NPL, Linda Peppiatt, has agreed to return from her recent retirement to fill the role of Acting CEO on a temporary basis.
