Proctoring service is available at Newmarket Public Library for any person enrolled in an academic institution that requires students to complete examinations under the supervision of an approved proctor.
Qualified library staff are available during regular hours excluding Sunday; however, the library reserves the right to deny a request due to staff availability. To apply for this service, every person is asked to complete the Exam Proctoring Form - Request for Proctoring.
Fees for Exam Proctoring
Regardless of exam length, the library charges a reduced rate fee of $35.00 per student, plus printing and mailing costs if applicable, per exam, when the student pays directly for the service.
A fee of $50.00, plus any applicable printing or mailing costs, is charged to any institution that pays the library directly or recovers the cost from a student’s course fees.
There is no additional charge for use of a library laptop.
Conditions for Exam Proctoring
The library reserves the right to refuse the request if the student provides inaccurate or incomplete information.
The library will not accommodate an exam if it cannot meet conditions outlined by an institution. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure library proctors are acceptable under their institution’s examination policies.
The examination package must be sent from the issuing institution directly to the library, via mail or email, at least one week prior to the exam date.
It is the responsibility of the student to arrive fifteen (15) minutes prior to the start of the exam.
The library will not be liable for any missing items, papers, samples or other documents related to the exam.
The student is responsible for any incidental or additional expenses such as courier fees or postage charges.
