Newmarket Public Library Board The Newmarket Public Library Board is a seven member board made up of four Community members and three Council Representatives. The Library Board is appointed by the Town of Newmarket Council and is governed by the Provincial Public Libraries Act R.S.O. 1990.
Role of the Library Board The role of the Board is to set policy and oversee the management of the Library's finances, facilities and services within the Town of Newmarket. Its mandate is to provide a comprehensive and efficient public library service that reflects the community's unique needs, and to promote and advocate the value of public libraries.
Role of the C.E.O. The C.E.O. is responsible for planning, organizing, co-coordinating and managing the operation of the Library's staff, programs and services.

Library Board Meetings Meetings of the Library Board are generally held every third Wednesday of each month, excluding July and August and are open to the public.
