Newmarket Public Library

This is a literacy-based program for children in grades 1 - 4.  It pairs volunteers from the community with children who require reading encouragement.  Children will meet one-on-one with a volunteer tutor for up to 10 one hour sessions.

Reading Buddies

If you are interested in enrolling your child in this program ask at the Children's Services Information Desk or  call 905-953-5105 for more information.  Interested Reading Buddies are invited to fill out an application form.

Tutors

Teens age 14 and over and adults who are interested in becoming Reading Buddies' tutors can ask at the Children's Services Information Desk or call 905-953-5105 for more information.  Interested tutors are invited to fill out an application form.

This is an ongoing program and we are always looking for interested tutors and reading buddies but sometimes opportunities are limited and we regret we may not match all applicants immediately.  The next program session begins in early April.
