Library Catalogue
Q: How do I use the Library Catalogue?
A: MY ACCOUNT functions separately from the Library's database, so it requires
a different Username and Password.
A: At the top of the MY ACCOUNT page, click on "Forgot Username/Password?"
If you have forgotten your Username, enter the barcode on your Library card.
If you have forgotten your Password, enter your Username. An email will be sent
to you with your MY ACCOUNT Username and Password.
A: MY ACCOUNT has the added benefit of features such as My Reading
List and My Future Picks, with other features to be added in the future.
A: You must first activate these features in My Profile. Once active, My Reading
List will compile a list of books that you have checked out and returned. This
list will not include books that you checked out and returned prior to using
MY ACCOUNT. My Future Picks will begin compiling a list each night
consisting of NEW books added to the Library's catalogue that match the
Title, Author or Subject you have specified.
A: My Future Picks will list only materials that are NEW additions to the Library.
If you add a book to your list that is already part of the Library's collection
it will show up but you will not be able to place a hold on it. However, if a new
copy of the same book arrives in the Library, My Future Picks will
allow you to place a hold on it.
A: If your criteria is very generalized (i.e. selecting "food" as a Subject), My
Future Picks will compile a very broad list of books related to food, which may
include children's books, cookbooks, young adult books, etc.
A: Authors are catalogued by last name first, so searches must follow this pattern in
order to return any results. You should also ensure that the name is spelled
correctly.
A: My Reading List compiles a history of books you have read by keeping track of
those you have checked out and returned (up to a total of 50), which it does by
indicating their current status.
A: My Reading List compiles a maximum of 50 books, after which the oldest book
on the list will automatically be removed. You can permanently store up to 45
books by placing a check mark in the box beside them.
A: It is possible the password is being used by another patron so you may
want to try another one.

for more details.
