All persons who live, work or attend school in Newmarket are entitled to a free Library card. Library cards are free to persons who live, work or attend school (JK-12) in or are current card holders in one of the York Public library Network (YPLN) municipalities: Aurora, Markham, Richmond Hill and Vaughan
Additionally, please remember...
- Proof of name and current address is required to obtain a card. Proof of name and current address may be the same document if the identification has a photograph. Otherwise, 2 documents are required. Proof of address can be your valid Ontario Driver's Licence, Ontario Photo Card, Ontario Motor Vehicle Permit, Property Tax Bill, Age of Majority Card, Old Age Security Card, etc. Proof of name can be your Birth Certificate, valid Ontario Driver's Licence, Passport, Social Insurance Number, Student ID Card, etc.
- Persons under 14 require a parent's signature and the parent must be present when the child receives the card.
- A person 14 and over must show ID and sign the card upon registration unless unable to do so due to a disability.
