Get feature films, television shows, music albums, audiobooks, eBooks and Comics with HOOPLA, a new digital media streaming service. Learn how to borrow Hoopla titles via a browser, smartphone or tablet and explore the mobile app and website, with its collections of over 250,000 always available, no holds anytime, titles. Registration is suggested.

Social Media 101: DISCOVER & CREATE 

Introduction to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest

Curious about social media? In these hands-on workshops we’ll introduce you to the basics of creating an account*, including privacy settings, how to find friends and family and how to interact and share information.  Ask questions and explore the wonderful world of online social networks. Discover how to access the library’s eBooks, eMagazine, digital music and video collections. Learn how to register and enjoy Overdrive, EBSCO, OneClickDigital and Mabiblio Numerique eBooks, Zinio eMagazines, Freegal music and new video downloads and streaming service HOOPLA in this informative, practical one hour session. You may bring your device or laptop, but it is not required. If you cannot make this session, be sure to drop by the Digital Shift every Friday from 2PM-4PM or contact Digital Services to make an appointment.

This class teaches the basics of preparing 3D files for printing and creating vinyl signs and decals for cutting using the library's Roland Vinyl Cutter. It is recommended for those wishing to use the library's 3D printer or vinyl cutter.

Maker Hub 3D Printers and Vinyl Cutter

Adults, parents and children will be introduced to 3D printing and simple modeling using the free online CAD application TinkerCAD. Attendees will see the 3D Printer in action and receive certification training and work to create a personal item. Projects will be printed and available for pick up at a later date.: Registration is suggested.

Email your .STL file of the object(s) with a brief description of your print specifications to makerhub@newmarketpl.ca 


Drop off at the library's Adult Info Desk

Drop off a .STL print file on a USB stick in the library at the Adult Info Desk on the lower level. Please fill out a NPL Maker Hub 3D Print Submission form available online and at the library.


3D submissions could take up to 2 weeks to be printed but we will aim to print it as soon as possible. You will receive a phone call or email when your print is ready to be picked up.
