NPL is also a proud supporter of the Town of Newmarket's Cultural Master Plan and Community Urban Space Project (CUSP). Launched in October 2009 the Cultural Master Plan will help the Town preserve, invest and expand its already rich cultural heritage. Read more about Newmarket's Arts and Culture initiatives and special events at the Town of Newmarket website.

Each year NPL participates in the Newmarket Farmers' Market, the place to buy farm fresh produce, homemade baking and handmade crafts.

Looking for ways to explore literacy? NPL hosts a monthly book club in a relaxed atmosphere.

Frederick Hagan Collection

The Canadian artist Frederick Hagan (1918-2003) created his "Exploration" series of lithograph prints, uniquely Canadian works with a historical focus on our nation’s shared past, in 1989. A collection of these works were donated to the Town of Newmarket and are mounted at various locations throughout Newmarket municipal buildings.

As a result of the Shared Digital Infrastructure project, these prints are now accessible online through Newmarket Public Library’s Our Ontario pages. Each print has its own page in Our Ontario due to the photographic work of the SDI team that captured the prints as mounted in town offices and hallways.
