Get your hands on a world of languages

NPL's Multilingual Collection

As part of the Southern Ontario Multilingual Poll, the Library provides a collection of books and DVDs in many different languages, including these new addtions:

Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Tamil.

At any time you can request a language you would like to see added to the collection. You can also take advantage of our InterLoan service to request items from other libraries. For more information ask at the Adult Services Information Desk or call 905-953-5110 Ext. 4770

Books, Audio and Video

The library has a collection of English as a Second Language (ESL) books on the main floor in the northeast corner near the CD collection. Additionally, ESL audio visual material and books can be found in the Children’s and Adult collection. Search our Online Public Access Catalogue or ask at the Information Services desk on each floor.
