|
Donated by Dorothy and Jim Bowman and their daughter Carol Bowman. In 1987 the Newmarket Public Library
was very fortunate to be the beneficiary of this donation for works of art and books relating to art to be placed in Newmarket libraries. The funds were
invested in trust for this purpose until 1998 when a collection of works of art was selected and purchased to form a permanent gallery in the library.
The Bowmans were active participants in the cultural life of the Town of Newmarket. The Newmarket Public Library is very grateful for their generosity and
extraordinary gift. May the citizens of Newmarket enjoy this collection always.
Brochures of the Bowman Collection are available at the library. The following table lists the artists and
their work with location notes and a brief biography. Please come into the library and enjoy this splendid gift to the people of Newmarket.
